Did you know that Thomas Edison lived in Louisville, KY during the years 1866-1867? His home is now a museum and information can be found at www.EdisonHouse.org. I’ve personally been to the home and taken a tour, it’s like a lot of homes that once belonged to famous people from our area, tucked away in a little community that you would drive right by if you didn’t know that it existed. The home is in the Butchertown district which has seen a strong resurgence over the past 10 years, primarily because of its close proximity to downtown and the system. There have been a lot of people who’ve left a mark on our community over the years, it’s cool when you can learn a little bit about who they were and what they represented.
Interesting fact…On Jan. 27, 1880, Thomas Edison received a patent for his electric incandescent lamp
